CB's Die Cast Review: September 15, 1998 |
|
This is a quick review to put
to rest rumors that The Official Hot Wheels Collectors Club is defunct.
The Club Kits have begun to ship, and they include the Collectors Club Motorcycle,
which is the 1997 Scorchin' Scooter in an exclusive decorative scheme.
The Club kit contents are packaged in a sturdy cardboard box decorated with the front of
the `59 Mercury with the custom grill on the top, sporting a Collectors Club license
plate. The bottom of the box features the nose of Kyle Petty's Grand Prix.
Included with the kit, along with the motorcycle, are a membership card, a 30th
anniversary pin (similiar to the one included with the 30th anniversary Twin Mill), a
T-shirt neatly printed with Collectors Club graphics, a license plate frame, a keychain
and a bumper sticker. Included in a welcome letter that also promises future
exclusive vehicle offerings.
Overall, the bike looks good, but time will tell if future club vehicles and
merchandise will justify the cost of membership.
