A lot of folks are wondering what has become of all the die cast
they have
contributed to your "museum" over the years. Most folks are
feeling that they were scammed and that there will never be a museum and
maybe you should think about returning those donated items. It is obvious
that your enthusiasm has died for this hobby or maybe you are just too
busy with other things in your life. Either way, the issue of the "donated"
items needs to be resolved. Scott
.
Legitimate question Scott. I'm not sure how many items you think
have been donated but the number is not high. Over the years maybe
25 to 30 items were sent to the Museum from visitors and friends.
Some of my friends have sent me cars for my personal collection also.
Most of the items sent were usually first editions that I had not found
in this area yet. Anyone who ever sent me anything is free to ask
for its return at any time.
.
As far as the Museum not being opened you must not visit the site very
often and thus do not know me very well. Anyone who visits this site
knows my family does, and always will, come first. We will never
open the museum here in New Mexico because it would not be feasible.
We are staying here right now for several reasons. Number one is
Dennis' health. He has a great doctor here who has kept him alive
through some very tough heart problems. I almost lost him the 29th
of March and I will not take any chances with his health. Secondly
is that our grand kids are here and we baby sit them. While some
may consider me paranoid I will not let strangers/professionals baby sit
the kids. I know they are safe with us and wouldn't know if they
were with someone else. So in the meantime we are saving money to
open the Museum when we move.
.
I have not lost interest in either the hobby or the page. My
day starts at 5:30am when April drops off the kids. At 1:30 Dennis
takes over and I start getting ready for work. I go to work at 3:00
and get off at 11:00. I get home about 11:30 and get to bed around
midnight. The kids are two, seven and eight. They need constant
monitoring. As you can see this leaves me very little time to do
anything. I myself haven't even gone shopping for groceries in over
two months, let alone Hot Wheels. Dennis gets stuck doing most of
the work around the house except the laundry (which I don't trust him to
do right ;-] ). It is not lack of interest. It never will be.
I love this hobby and this site but currently have very little time on
my hands. I am going to make some changes that will keep the site
updated more often, hopefully daily. When I didn't work the site
was updated daily and sometimes twice a day. But work takes a big
chunk of time out of my day. Baby sitting takes a big chunk out of
my day.
.
You have no idea how much I am looking forward to the Convention in
Connecticut in June. Ten days with no responsibilities. Ten
days where I don't have to be anywhere at any certain time. Three
days I get to spend talking Hot Wheels with other collectors. It
will be heaven.
.
So if any of you have sent anything to the Museum you would like returned
send me a note with the item information and the date. I will be
glad to return it to you. Trish
