Things For Which I Am Thankful
November 17, 2001

65Skylark sent us all a request that, in light of all the tragedy we as Americans have experienced lately, that we focus our columns for November on what we are thankful for in our lives.  After reading ROCK's column I don't think any of us can do a better job than he did.  So I'm just going to list the things for which I am thankful.
.
I come home tired with aching feet after a long shift at work.  I'm thankful I have a job to come home from and a home to come to.
.
Piggy is now seven, Chickie is six and Bubba is 16 months.  Piggy and Chickie are at that stage in their relationship as sisters where they argue about everything.  Bubba is walking, of course, and has to be chased all over.  When all three spend the night (once a week) I sometimes think I will need to be put in a home after they leave.  I'm thankful I live close enough to see them regularly and have them try to drive me insane once a week.  ;-)
.
I almost hate going anywhere when Dennis is driving.  He is a great driver and spends the trip pointing out the faults of most of the bad drivers (almost everyone) along the way.  It makes for a very long trip.  I'm sure glad he's there to try to drive me nuts on a regular basis.  ;-)
.
My child is 27 years old and still doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up.   ;-)  She calls me on a regular basis all excited about her plan of the week.  Not only am I glad we have a relationship where she calls when a new idea strikes her but I'm glad she's open to so many ideas for her future.
.
I am grateful for all the friends I've met through the site.  One of my favorites is Big Arv.  His enthusiasm about Hot Wheels and life in general is inspiring.  His love for his family is so obvious one would have to be totally unobservant not to see it and think about how lucky they are to have their family.
.
I am thankful for the staff and visitors at CB's.  We are one big collector family and have all the characteristics of a family...we disagree, agree, complain, annoy each other and have fun when we all get together.  I'm so glad CB's is a place this family feels free to express their opinions and share their information with each other.  I'm glad CB's is a place visited by people who love the hobby and like to share any and all information they have as well as new finds.
.
I am thankful and proud to be an American.
.
Happy Thanksgiving!
