This is my HOBBY.  I collect TOYS!  I am the web master for one of the best sites on the net.  We are one of the best because of all the wonderful people who work here and the equally wonderful people who visit and share information with us.  Now that I work information is not always posted timely.  Other sites do a much better job of that.  I like to think it is our philosophy and the fact that we all think of this as fun that puts this site near the top of the ladder.  We share all information sent to us with anyone who wishes to visit the site.  We also share pictures.  Most of these pictures are sent by staff but some are sent by visitors.  I usually check to see where they come from but I failed on the 99 Christmas Hot Wheels I posted.

Mark of Mark's Coolest Hot Wheels sent me a note informing me the pictures were stolen from his site.  I sent a note of apology and then went to his site only to see I was named with several other individuals/sites as a thief.  That info has since been changed but I am still upset at being accused of something without being contacted first and asked to remedy the situation.  As Mark said in one of his emails, "In the laws eyes recieving stolen property is just like stealing it though.  Maybe you should of checked to see where the pictures came from?"

He's right, I should have checked.  I didn't.  I screwed up.  But I think our visitors have the same CB's mindset - "It's just a toy, share as much information as you can with each other."  Apparently there are those out there who do not feel the same way we do.  When I visited this site I found that this is the site of a dealer.  Individuals who have extras to trade or sell do not usually take major credit cards.  Was Mark under the mistaken impression that CB's would be competition in the selling market?   I know some of the other sites are selling Hot Wheels but not us.  We are here for the solely because we love die cast cars.

It has always been the CB's policy that any and all information may be borrowed and used by any and all who are not making a profit on the information/pictures used.  We do not feel the staff and visitors should provide information for someone intending to make a profit.  So, in the future CB's will post no pictures that are sent unless you include a note saying you took/scanned the picture(s) or what site you took them from.  We do have an agreement with some sites to share pictures and information and we always give credit where we know credit is due.

I hope in the future all web masters who find pictures from their site used on CB's will have the courtesy to first contact me and let me correct the error before you post on your web site that I am a thief.  Web masters who do not want CB's to use any pictures from your site at any time please contact me and I do my best to make sure it does not happen.  It is my hope that most web masters are in this for the same reason...fun.
