Ever Wonder if You're in Too Deep?
7/30/2000

Hello all!  Remember me?  It's been quite some time since my last contribution & as most of you know, I've been going thru some adjustment period. Now that things have pretty much leveled out & I've gotten into some sort of routine again, I guess I'll write about something, although I have to admit it gets harder & harder to  think of things to write about.  It's like the talk shows on TV; it's ALL been done before by someone, somewhere.  So here goes nothing................literally.
.
During my packing, moving & adjusting, I sometimes looked at the cars I accumulated & wondered if it was REALLY worth it. Did I REALLY get that much enjoyment out of collecting or was it just a phase I was going thru?  I considered the possibility of quitting, but realized that even though it could be very aggravating at times, I still really enjoyed the hunt and the "coolness" of the little cars themselves. In other words, it's still F U N.
.
And fun is what it's all about to people like me, Trish, & other collectors like the CB's gang. Granted, I don't have anyplace to display my collection at the moment, but things change. (man, how they change)  This just gives me something else to consider in the next place I own; it'll definitely have a LARGE room just to accommodate my die casts.
.
So, although I have a lot of time (and sometimes money) in my hobby, & most of it is where I can't enjoy it at the moment, I still love it & don't want to stop.  I think back to all the times Boss Lady (Trish), talked about not being able to enjoy her "toys" because they were in storage & talked about how much fun she had going through all of them when she finally got them out.  She said it was like discovering them, all over again.  I probably didn't really understand or appreciate what she meant at the time, but I sure do, now.  :-}     I can't wait until I can break mine out again!  Heck, maybe I AM in too deep, but I don't care; I'm having too
much FUN.............and that's why I started collecting anyway.
.
As always, Happy Hunting, and hang back up two for every one you knock off,
.
