Chicken? Soup!

What is mint?  Nothing more than the way something comes from the factory the way the factory produces the item.  So it is with a MIB (Mint In Blister) little car.  Now there appears to be some desire on the part of collectors too have their stuff MIB.  Why is this?  Simple.  It gonna be worth more some day.  Bubble bustin time boys and girls.  Every one has at least three stashed back for the future.  There will be so much "mint" stuff in 20 years it will be buy one get one free.

But on to the real point of this MIB thing. Let me ask you a question.  It's ok you can answer in the privacy of where ever you are reading this.  "When you do something really nice or do a great job at work or have something special you want to be praised or show it off. Right?"  Sort of makes you feel proud doesn't it.  And if you do or make something with a lot of detail you like to have people spend time looking at your creation and marveling over it and examining it it detail. Right?  Now if someone were to wrap your creation up and tuck it away it would be sort of sad wouldn't it.  Ever design a die cast car?  Ever design anything?  It takes a lot of energy and you take a lot of pride in it and want to show it off.  Right?  How would you like to bet that the designers of our little toys don't start feeling a little badly when the "collector" buys all of the product yet never enjoys it.  Care to guess how many times I have had to explain that the suspensions of the Hot Wheels "Low Riders" are fully poseable.  More that you could ever imagine. Why?  Because it has to be kept "MIB" (Mint In Box).  What a piece of craftsmanship each of these little cars are.  They are truly made to be enjoyed. Every one of the designers I have had the privilege to know say the same thing..."look at what I made for the collectors". So next time go ahead and be daring...throw caution to the wind...open it and play with it...be a kid again.....HAVE FUN

P.S.  Thanks for the idea Brian

Mosey, my man...you're alive.  I was beginning to think you'd dropped those stone tablets on your head and had amnesia.  :-)  Great article.  I hope to have one of as many cars as possible open for collector's to actually see the cars out of the blister when we open.  How many of you know there is a man in the ice cream truck, a German Shepherd in the back seat of the Mercedes SL380, that the license plate on the Porsche 911 Targa (collector # 608) has ADM 26 cast there?  These cars can be all sorts of fun and I'm having my share going through all of my cars now and cataloging them.  Have fun with your collection.  You can't take it with you.  Trish
