COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS I have to like it.  Not necessarily into series and not into wheel/color variations.  Must be affordable (ok, so I DO buy some other stuff, too).  But hey, had to have the Boyd's & the 57' Legends.    Cherry!
WHY I STARTED COLLECTING Had so much $money$ I had to find something to throw it at.  (I've still got that $500 Bus).
GREATEST BENEFIT OF WORKING FOR CB's $25.00 per hour and all the 355's I can carry.  PLUS.....I get to work in my underwear.

Why do I collect Hot Wheels?

Well for starters, the question (to me anyway) should have been "Why do you collect die cast cars". To answer that, I remember as a child, playing for days (literally) in my room. I had a Matchbox road building set and would build roads & bridges and complete "towns". I
had several plastic house models & a variety of other buildings from my fathers train set that he had disassembled (during military transfer) & never put back together. Later one Christmas, Santa brought a Matchbox BP gas/service station, which quickly became my favorite. These layouts would stay for days & I had a ball!  :-) But the time always came when I had to pick it all up & how I hated that. It would take me ALL day long
(had to play some as I picked it up, you know).

Time went on, I grew up (physically, anyway), & I discovered other things in life.  ;-}  "Know what I mean, Vern?"  Time marched on....... Then, KABLAMM! I'm in Walmart one night with the wife & there they are, Hot Wheels out the B.....  So I think, "I remember these,
except that most of mine had been Matchbox (MB axles were sturdier than HW's in my day; very important when played with). I find a few classics I like (about 10-12) & find the wife to put them in the cart. The rest as they
say "Is history". That was about 8? years ago maybe & I
haven't stopped. I only get what I like & I don't limit myself to one manufacturer. There are a lot of neat cars out there, but some ARE more costly. That's the way it is if you collect as I do. On the plus side, I can usually find
something I don't have when I go looking; I may not buy it, buy "Hey, at least I FOUND something"!  So as I continue to run out of display/storage space, I guess I could say the reason I collect is simple.......I never really grew up & I like my toys. Be young, have fun, and above all, remember to keep it FUN.        STONEMAN
