I collect Hot Wheels because there are no blue trees.  You see, even though blue isn't my favorite color, I noticed it wasn't available in my previous hobby, tree collecting.  Now some of you would say "what about
the blue spruce?"  And you would be right to a certain
degree, but its a pale blue a sky blue, bordering on teal.  Why, if it had been named in this age of multiple hues, it would probably be called a Cerulean Spruce, not blue at all.  No, no, living in the great Pacific Northwest, where blue sky is an oddity, and the water is blue only from
the rainbow effects of the passing oil slicks, I missed blue.  Now green, green is everywhere.  Green leaves in the spring, green needles on the evergreens, even green on the bamboo, (yes, we have a little bamboo forest in our back yard, seriously) (you can't see the forest for the
bamboo?) Anyway, green, green, green, green, green.  Enough to turn your stomach.  And in the fall, Yellow, orange, red, and all shades in between, and all needing to be raked up off the stinking green lawn. This doesn't even touch on the flowering trees, Whites, pinks purples,
reds and more yellows.  Every color of the rainbow EXCEPT Blue!!  So, oddly enough, I was feeling blue about the lack of blue when I walked into a K-Mart one day, looking for the Blue vests I guess. (they wear red
vests at our K-Mart now, how about at yours?)  When I
stumbled on a display of Hot Wheels.  And there, right in front, was a blue car!! And behind it, another blue car, different shade but unmistakably blue!!  I was in Heaven,  My Blue Heaven you might say.( I'll be happy
in my, blue, hea-van)  I bought every blue car they had.  Soon, I was buying Hot Wheels by the case full, keeping all the blue cars and trading away the rest.  I very quickly forgot all about my trees, but this being rainy Seattle, I didn't have to worry about them, they did just fine
without me.  Then one day I noticed something, all I had
was blue cars.  The Blue Streak Series was the pinnacle of my obsession. A set of nothing but blue cars, and to make matters worse, I had to send away for the Blue Nissan Pick-up. (Traded away some lousy WHITE
Camaro Treasure Hunt to get it)  Then I noticed something else, some of my favorite cars didn't come in blue.  Viper, 58 Vette and a few others, and if they did,
they were hard to come by.  So I decided to diversify.  As of today I'm adding a new color of car to my collection.  Hello Aqua!        Love, ROCK
