MY THOUGHTS ON THE HOBBY I started out with basic track sets and a few cars as a child. I also loved Hot Birds! Today I am rebuilding my redline era cars and just having fun with all the new castings. Pretty much since the early 90's I've bought anything that caught my eye. I swore I wouldn't buy every series car (and I don't). I hate trucks like the recycling truck, etc., but I LOVE Turboa and Sharkruiser (funny huh?). I am still learning so much! I was attracted to this site/people because there is so much wisdom and experience to draw from. I know I have the attitude and behavior of a "newbie"; but that's really the way I am as a person! I am as excited about walking up to a row of pegs as I was the first time I took my dollar allowance and bought my new 1968 cars! I really believe there is a chance I will find new cars every time I walk into a store! I refuse to pay more than retail for almost any car; so I have to be smarter and patient (darn, I still haven't found that FE Bus!). I love being a "loner" out there at the pegs, but I've met so many cool fellow collectors its all good! Phaser |
